Sara Medina, ASW
Hi there! I'm glad you are seeking assistance for the challenges you are experiencing. As your therapist, I'm happy to support you along your journey. Life is filled with highs and lows, and some experiences can be overwhelming. Sometimes you just need help sorting through the thoughts and experiences, and having a trusted professional to aid you can make all the difference. I provide a secure environment so that you can feel open and safe to explore, process, and grow.
My experience includes working with individuals and families, including adults, adolescents, children, postpartum women, and dual diagnosis individuals. I have facilitated treatment groups in grief and loss, for individuals enrolled in an in-patient recovery program, and for veterans in a skilled nursing facility. I have training in trauma, anxiety, depression, postpartum, grief, and interpersonal challenges. My education and clinical background as a therapist has prepared me to help others work through various life challenges, build healthy and productive coping skills, communicate effectively, and have more satisfying and meaningful lives. Further, as a practicing Catholic, I value the importance of spirituality. If you wish to utilize this aspect of your life as part of your healthy coping skills, I am comfortable assisting you.
I earned my bachelors in psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills and my masters degree in social work from Azusa Pacific University. I am currently supervised by Robin Schwarm, LMFT120712.
I look forward to working together to achieve your goals. Please feel free to contact me!
