Sara Medina, ASW
Ms. Medina is a registered associate clinical social worker who is adept at cultivating a warm and secure environment for her clients, allowing them space to safely explore and process difficult thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns. Through genuine rapport, a sensitivity to the unique needs of each client, and deep clinical expertise, Ms. Medina assists her clients to develop healthy and productive coping skills, communicate effectively with others, and establish a positive and gratifying self-concept.
Ms. Medina has diverse experience and training, having successfully treated families and individuals of all ages, including postpartum women and dual diagnosis individuals; she has facilitated treatment groups for grief and loss, substance abuse recovery, and veterans. In addition, Ms. Medina has specialized training in trauma, anxiety, depression, and postpartum grief. As a practicing Catholic, Ms. Medina understands the importance of spirituality and the role it plays in the health of the whole individual, and is comfortable incorporating spiritual values into the therapeutic process with clients for whom spirituality is an integral part of their well-being.
Ms. Medina earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and her master’s degree in social work from Azusa Pacific University.
