Lela Hernandez, APCC
Mrs. Hernandez is a registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who works with individuals, couples, families and adolescents. Mrs. Hernandez is versed in the psychological models of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic and REBT theories. Using unconditional positive regard and trauma informed interventions, Mrs. Hernandez provides a safe space for clients to process concerns in a way that is open, warm, and free from judgment. By prioritizing the therapeutic relationship and transparent communication, Mrs. Hernandez fosters an atmosphere within which her clients are encouraged to participate in their own healing and growing process, producing real and lasting change.
Mrs. Hernandez graduated from the University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Mrs. Hernandez has extensive experience working with families in the reunification process, parental skills training, and individuals suffering from depression and anxiety. In addition, Mrs. Hernandez has experience working with adults with developmental disabilities, at risk youth, and individuals with co-occurring disorders. She also has a special interest in working with marginalized populations and enjoys working collaboratively with clients in identifying and securing resources and supports where appropriate.
