Elizabeth Gallo, LMFT
Through the use of genuine positive regard, clinical competence, and humor, I will empower you to achieve the best version of yourself. Together, we will accomplish this by effectively assessing your concerns, establishing collaborative goals, and developing a treatment plan that emphasizes your desired outcomes. I create a comfortable space in which you can feel safe and supported as you explore your life, relationships and personal goals. Furthermore, I value the unique set of experiences that you bring into therapy and I will tailor my approach to fit your needs.
I am a Bilingual Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and I have successfully assisted clients through a variety of concerns including depression, grief, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, life transitions and interpersonal difficulties. More specifically, I have helped clients learn how to effectively communicate, develop healthy coping skills, and increase awareness through connecting current behavioral patterns to early childhood experiences. The development of these insights and skills can lead to establishing healthy boundaries, satisfying relationships, and ultimately, a more fulfilling life.
Currently, my special areas of focus include anxiety, adverse childhood experiences, and physical disabilities. In my work with clients, I have found that as a result of adverse childhood experiences, faulty assumptions about the self, others, and the world can develop and maintain into adulthood. I experience a sense of fulfillment when assisting clients through challenges related to this area. This is because the therapeutic process allows clients an opportunity to develop insight in regard to the self and their experiences, as well as process unresolved emotions, and make necessary adjustments to move away from utilizing behavioral or thinking patterns that no longer serve them. I effectively assist clients in regard to the above by providing acceptance of their perspective, respectful confrontation, and a creative process that allows both myself and clients to influence the structure and content of treatment.
With my B.S. in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton and my M.S. in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix, I strive to highlight your personal strengths, assist you in finding meaning from adversity experienced, and guide you toward more authenticity and hope.
