Shantell Byrd, LCSW

Ms. Byrd is a licensed clinical social worker who uses genuine empathy alongside evidence-based interventions to help her clients overcome life's challenges with confidence. She has a special interest in supporting people who are dealing with depression, anxiety, or going through life transitions—like starting a new chapter, adjusting to a new role, or feeling stuck in the middle of one. She also has experience helping individuals in crisis, including those struggling with thoughts of suicide.

At the heart of Ms.Byrd’s work is a deep belief in acceptance and meeting people where they are—emotionally, mentally, and in life—without judgment or pressure. She strives to create a warm, safe space where clients can feel truly heard and take steps toward their healing in a way that aligns with their values and goals. She employs a variety of therapeutic modalities in her clinical work including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and harm-reduction for substance use, among others. Ms. Byrd is skilled at leveraging each client's unique strengths and personality to develop tailored coping strategies and effective solutions.

While healing can look different for everyone, Ms. Byrd believes that real progress comes from the deep connection between the therapist and client, and the effort that clients are willing to put into the process—both inside and outside of the therapy room. Ms. Byrd’s therapeutic philosophy is to help clients generate a better understanding of themselves, provide a path towards one’s goals, and walk alongside each client every step of the way with encouragement and hope.

Ms. Byrd earned her bachelor's degree in human development and family studies from the University of Connecticut and her master's in social work from the University of Southern California.
