Amalia Perez, ASW

Amalia Mercedes Perez is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Associate Clinical Social Worker who works with people in all stages of life - children, adolescents, adults and couples. She supports adults and couples who feel stuck or disconnected, may be struggling with life transitions or mood concerns, or seeking guidance in overall purpose and meaning. Amalia also offers therapy for kids and teens struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional and behavioral issues, and difficulty with transitions - from normative (to a new grade, a new sibling, puberty) to more traumatic (divorce, death, natural disasters). Additionally, she has experience offering parent coaching and perinatal mental health support to new and expecting families.

Amalia joins clients across all ages in healing the roots of what brings them to therapy. She offers a non-judgmental, genuinely caring space for clients to be truly seen and understood as their full self, and connects with warmth, authenticity and empathy. For therapeutic modalities, Amalia practices attachment and emotions based Relational Therapy, as well as CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with adults, Attachment Based Family Therapy with families, Emotion Focused Therapy with couples and Child Centered Play Therapy with kids.

Amalia earned a bachelor's degree from Brown University before later earning a master’s in Social Work from New York University.
